Tales from Topographic Oceans
I have had this album since it came out in 1973!.
I was 11 years old and it meant so much to me!. After my first love affair with progressive rock a year before, when I heard Pink Floyd's Meddle, this album gave me an even more profound entrance to the complex world of this genre!.
For me Tales is a spiritual journey, a composition meant to take us to a very intimate vision of everything that is important as human beings!.
I don't know how or why I loved it so much even though i was only a kid really!. I know I sat for hours listening to the 4 sides and staring at the amazing art work of Roger Dean!.!.!.that is another fundamental part of what Yes wanted to transmit to the audience!.
The final part, Ritual Nous sommes de soleil makes me cry even now almost 35 years later!.!.!.
For me Tales and Going for the one ( Awaken being my favorite song on that album) are my favorite Yes Oeuvres!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Close To The Edge for me!. I liked Topographic Oceans as well, but felt it was more of an opportunity for each member to self indulge!. It lacked the cohesiveness of a band unit found in many of their other works IMO!. Which perhaps was their intention all along!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
