So we all agree RHH lyrically has improved since the 80s...??? ?!

Question: So we all agree RHH lyrically has improved since the 80s!.!.!.!?!?!? !?
!.!.!.!.but does that mean that an 80s rapper can't improve his lyrics to meet the times!?

People make it sound like all these 80s rappers can't keep up with most of the crack babies in RHH now and they would be lyrically murder and sh!t!.!.!. Most cats in the game right now aren't blowing anyone out the water, so it all depends on the artist and not the era they came out!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
It does all depend on the artist!. Could Rev Run give GZA a run for his money!? Unlikely (and all respect to Run, but let's be real about it)!.
Could Kool G Rap commit emcee genocide in a battle with younger rappers!? Hell yes!.

Yes, things have advanced in hip hop!. Lyrically, production-wise, DJ techniques, etc, but that is what any art form is supposed to do!. Who would still care about hip hop if it hadn't evolved since the 80s!? But it would have had nothing to evolve from if the 80s heads hadn't given those building blocks!.

There are plenty of 80s rappers today who can equal, and in some cases outshine the rappers of the 00s!.
There are also plenty who can't!.

Time and age have nothing to do with it, it's all down to the individual!.

edit: lol, sorry Snakey baby, didn't see you'd used Rev Run as an example too!. Great minds and all that ;)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Lyrically ADVANCED!? Yes!.
Emotionally, meaningfully better!?,Hell no!

80's didn't have multis or anything, but it had meaning, and the rhymes were still dope!. Now theres more multis but mainstream lyrical meaning sucks!. Actually, most mainstream doesn't have multis anymore!. When they do its sloppily put together!. IMO RHH's Prime was the 90's!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think Rakim has maintain as we see in the Classic Video with him and NaS And Kanye

I think Slick Rick still can do it his joint he had came out with I had brought wasn't that bad it was 7 out of 10

I can't see Rev Run though being relevant

But Big Daddy Kane is still Rhyming Fly where as Kool Mo Dee don't stand a chance!.

@Bonnie
It's cool luv you know great minds think as one!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Agreed!. You *can* teach experience new things!.

And btw, who said *all* of the people of today's generation in RHH are lyrically better than rappers of the '80s!? That's not totally true!.

We still have people like Soulja Boy who are too disgraceful to even mention!.!.!. :\Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think it depends on the artist!.
I think alot of the 80s artists would blow these new cats out the water given the right circumstances (production, marketing, subject matter)!.

It did at first (like around the early to mid 90s), but now its gotten worse! WACK RAPPERS from the 80s would crush the best rappers today!Www@Enter-QA@Com
