Unfair to compare four and five-part harmonies with the two-part sounds of the Everlys!. (Please don't knock The Hollies by the way - they were awesome vocally!)!.
The Everlys started a trend at the time, but there were numerous others!. Britain had its own version of the Everlys - The Brook Brothers - who had a couple of top ten hits - 'Warpaint' and 'Ain't Gonna Wash for a Week' which are well worth hearing!.
Then there was Peter and Gordon, David and Jonathon, and Chad and Jeremy, who were far more successful in America than they were in Britain, where they had just one hit, 'Yesterday's Gone'!. All are worth listening too if you haven't heard them before!.
Three, four and five-part harmonies!? There's hundreds of 'em, but if you've never heard a short-lived band called Harmony Grass (1969/70) check out their eponymous album, and from America, the superb sounds of both Friends of Distinction and Fifth Dimension!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
