Confused about guitars?!
Question: Confused about guitars!?
Hi
I know there are two kinds of guitars, a bass and another one which is very low sounding
i want to buy these two soon with an amp, but i don't know which is which and what to buy!.
for those of you who have heard 'when you were young' by the killers, my biggest interest is in the guitar heard at the start of the song!. i need the lower pitched guitar for recording purposes, but could anybody give me the names of both types, as well as some good brands (specific website links)

It's confusing when you say "low sounding guitar"!. There are different types of guitars - the bass, which does the bass line of the song (obviously)!. You can also have a normal acoustic guitar, an electro-acoustic guitar (can plug into an amp), or an electric guitar!.
In a band there are usually two guitars - one rhythm, one lead!. The rhythm plays the body of the music, and the lead does the guitar solos/background filler sound!.
In When You Were Young, the guitar at the very start is just the rhythm guitar!. The 'hook' that comes in at around 10 seconds is just the lead guitar over the top of the rhythm!.
Electric guitars are generally used for the lead!. I hope this helps out a little bit!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

the bass guitar is the low sounding 4 string guitar
and the guitar is a 6 stringed regular guitar

then there a regular guitar that can either be played in rhythm or lead
