Question: How could you describe the tonality of the exposition in Mozart's 42nd symphony (Jupiter) (First movement)!?
Discuss!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
well tonality is relating to the actual key of the piece, as opposed to harmony which is relating to the chords and chord progression, when talking about tonality be sure to mention anything to do with modulation, weather the key is properly established or not, the difference of being in a key and implying a key and weather the piece is just passing through a number of keys!.

I haven't heard the piece but I still think that should see you in good steadWww@Enter-QA@Com

From the fact that it is a symphony in a major key, you can bet that the exposition consists of the first theme in the tonic key and the second theme in the dominant key!. That happens to be true in this case!.

If your library has a Barlow & Morgenstern index, look up the Jupiter Symphony!. It shows the first and second themes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"Discuss" means that we are going to have a conversation!. I have then feeling that YOU mean - "write an essay for me - it's my homework"!. Since I have a BM and MM in Music Theory, I could phone this one in - but if *I* did my own homework to learn, so should you!. I can honestly say that I NEVER had someone do it for me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
