Why do people buy bottled water?!

Question:

Why do people buy bottled water?

I mean, most of the bottled water is from tap anyways and it takes alot of energy to make a water bottle. How can water taste good if it is colorless, orderless, and tasteless? You're paying money to buy what is virtually free. The only reason I buy it is because flavored water doesn't come from tap.

As a comedian said "And the French person says : I bet that the Americans are so stupid that I can sell them water in a bottle."

You don't mind shelling out 2 bucks for water but you complain about gas prices. And did you know the Mayor of San Francisco banned bottled water in order to cut down the pollution it's making? It takes a thousand years for ONE bottle to rot.

When I went to Arrowhead lake and saw the people (illegally) swimming in the water, boating in it, ducks pooping in it, I permanently was off the 'pure' bottled spring water.

Answers:

1. You still have to pay for the water that comes out of your tap. It's called your Water Bill, it comes from the place that sanitizes, chlorinates, and adds fluoride to your water. Ask your parents- they'll tell you all about it... since you obviously live at home.

2. I prefer to drink bottled water because it does not have all of the chemicals that tap water has. My pets won't drink the tap water where I live. That gives you an idea that not all tap water is good. I bought a water purification system for the whole house- each filter is supposed to last 6 months. I have to change mine every 2 months. The water smells like a dirty pool. I can't wait to sell this house and move!

3. I use a home delivery service that sanitizes and recycles the five gallon jugs. And I use a good old fashioned water bottle (the kind with the sipper thing in the lid that you take home and wash) from Wal-Mart when I need to take water with me to the gym or whatever. See? Smart consumerism.

And guess what... the average person comsumes 7 pubic hairs, 182 spiders, 13 finger/toe nails, and 1000 other hairs per year from packaged food and beverage items.

Do you really think Coca Cola is going to stop production if a spider gets into the vat?
