Or is it just a fad yuppie thing. I think Tim Horton's and Dunkin Donuts are way better as well as cheaper.

It is a HUGE trend and nothing more. I can't believe that they can get away with charging over 4 dollars for a cup of coffee. There is nothing special about it. You can go to the 7/11 and get a coffee that tastes just as good-if not better- for 99 cents.
Edit: I agree with you on Tim Hortons. That place is really good. Unfortunately there isnt one near me, but when ever I go to New York to visit my cousin, thats the first place I stop at. I love their Frozen Cappucinos. Do they still have those?
