Did you thank the ambulance workers/fire brigade etc?!

Question:

Did you thank the ambulance workers/fire brigade etc?

after they saved you or your loved one or your house?

Ambulance workers saved my son and it took me 3 years to write to them but I was really grateful. They were 'only doing their job' but still they deserve thanks, don't you think?

[My son had a bad accident and the following 3 years were extremely stressful for me while he was in rehabilitation.]

Answers:

As a medic, I can tell you that medics and firefighters appreciate your gratitude more than you can imagine. Most of the time public safety is a thankless job except for the satisfaction you get from the work you know you've done. Some people take for granted the services that are available to them until they are in need of assistance. They 'expect' a fire truck and ambulance to be sitting at the station just waiting on THEM to need one. They don't realize all the training and tireless work we do every single day for very little pay.

So when people like you just say thank you, bake a little treat, or write a note. It really puts a smile on our face and reminds us that we really are appreciated.
