someone asked about postmodern lit. i think music since rubber soul, srgt peppers, white album, sometimes fits the post mod sort of thing. i think currently blonde redhead and sparklehorse are very post mod. some of lisa marie's songs are postmod. i do not think she is quite as post mod as blonde redhead or sparklehorse. p.j. harvey is also very post mod on is this desire which i cannot figure out why the critics panned it because i think it is one of the great masterworks we have received so far. i think mccartney was postmod and then all of his follow up albums really have not bee so thats a bit disappointing. of course yoko and john dabbled into post mod like give peace a chance and others they were always mixing it in some. i think ben harper does it some in fight for your mind
does anyone else have any good suggestions of contemporary artists? there are a few other good songs like natalie merchant, "henry darger" several tracy chapman songs like "happy" and her general boundary ?
