My cats behavior?!

Question:

My cats behavior?

My Cat, lately has been chasing my dog around. Even when she is not anywhere near the dog. She will charge right up to my dog and swipe at her. My cat is 10 years old and gets plently of attention. My dog is 4 years old and never goes near the cat or chases her. She may get more attention most of the time i guess..but only because the cat sleeps at the far end of the house not near we are.
The cat sleeps on my bed at night while the dog sleeps in her little bed beside.
She was on comicalm afew years ago because she was meowing loadly non stop all day and night. but we dont want to give her that again. What can we do before she murders my dog?...lol.

damn posted this in the wrong section..lol oh well. i have a few cats myself and the only thing i have been able to figure out about why they behave the way they do...is because they're just weird. however, i have one cat who is 4 years old and the youngest cat i have is about 5 months old. i know for about the first 3 months, our older cat wanted NOTHING to do with the new kitten...even still. they may get along about 80% of the time now, but sometimes the older cat will bat or swipe at the kitten. sometimes the older cat just wants to play, but other times she is definitely annoyed. the surest way to tell if your cat is trying to play or is just annoyed with your pup is if she hisses or meows in a really mean sounding tone. my guess is, maybe your cat just wants to play, BUT this could be your cats way of letting the pup know that she's been there longer and shes basically the boss!! i dont think your cat will 'murder' your dog...but just keep an eye one both of them and try to reprimand your cat when you catch her bullying you pup!! good luck...i know, animals are tough sometimes! Put her in a cage. i think u mighta put this in the wrong section she might be bored. play with her a bit. get yarn or cat nip. just because they are old doesnt mean they dont want to play. go to the pet food store, they have drops you can give her to calm her down. or else look online. maybe you should ask your vet. Do you scold her when she does this?? My male chihuahua is very territorial with me and my male cat. He will try to attack him if he gets on the bed. As soon as I see my cat coming and my dog starts to react, I say something right away. Like, "Sami be nice to your brother." Or, "Oh no you don't ! " It usually works for me. But then again cats are different. Since she was there first she may want to be the top " dog" so to speak. I'd keep a spray bottle of water around and when she starts to attack spray her. Most cats hate water. And this is not a cruel form of discipline. Hope this helps. sounds to me like she's being territorial and doesn't want the dog around period
jealousy... that's a cat's specialty, you know
don't cage her as someone else suggested
she just needs to know that she is the queen
... good luck
