What is the worst book that you ever read?!

Question:

What is the worst book that you ever read?

anything by JK Rowling would get my vote

Answers: Moby Dick is the worst I've actually read; but Ulysses is the worst that i have attempted to read! anything by matthew reilly and white star by jon thayer I dont read bad books all the way through. Life is too short & good books too plentiful I tried to read Lord of the rings, but I just couldn't get it at all. Yeah I agree and Hatchet. Ughh...that books just scares me! Whats so bad about JK Rowling? she's a great author Lizzie Dripping by Helen Cresswell

It is the most BORINGG-EST book EVER !! Ooh and by the way, JK Rowling's book are amazingg ! She's a great writter and I love her books (Harry Potter, of course...). Now, I know a LOT of people are going to bite my head off and give me "thumbs down" for this, but

I NEVER got into the J.R.R. Tolkien "Lord of the Rings" books! Heart of Darkness - Jospeh Konrad
The Handmaidens Tale - Margret Attwood

(Don't know if the names are spelled corectly though!) Had a book by Piers Anthony once called "TAROT" I tried to read that book 4 or 5 times before I finally gave up and decided that it was just c**p, to date it is the only book that I have never finished, I have read other books by this author and they were passable but this book could put you to sleep at 100 paces. "Hard Times", by Dickens gave me a hard time! the worst books that i have ever read are ones i dont understand - mainly Lawrence Durrel. Try reading one of those books all the way through! All of the potter books 'jwpheath' is not quite right when he says that Lawrence Durrell's stuff is bad. Durrell wrote 'The Alexandria Quartet' which is one of the most fascinating and beautifully-written books I've ever read. It's four books in one, each book talking about the same happenings from different perspectives. It's set in Alexandria and is exciting and romantic and both men and women will not be able to put it down.

The most horrible book (but a classic nonetheless) is 'The Garbageman' by Keith Gray. It's about a mental patient and a mad serial killer - the killings are amongst the worst you could imagine. It was banned in some places but is now considered a classic of the genre!
