the reason for his voige was to proove that indea was closer than they expected becouse at that time everone thught that the world was round (ball shaped) not since the 4th centuary BC did anyone anywhare think the world was flat Columbus himself never said the world was round - he thought it was pear shaped and about a quarter of its actual size.
Also, Columbus didn't actually set foot on mainland America, the closest he came was the Bahamas. Flat but that is not a shape so I will go with oval! Egg shaped? square? Circular?

Well, part of the point of his journey was to prove that the Earth wasn't flat, so if it wasn't round... I'll say ovoid? oblong he thought you could fall off.! triangle? he thought it was shaped like the Queens *** I don't know what shape he thought it was, but he didn't think it was flat or else he wouldn't have taken his voyage. He set out to prove it wasn't flat. Maybe oval.. Cube. A flat disc perhaps? although why a disc I have no idea! Dont be daft of course the earth is flat!!xx;-)
