I think it is incredibly stupid to waste money on it!

I think a penny should be abolished. Is there REALLY a use for it, since penny candy's not really a penny anymore?! a real waist of good copper I didn't know there was a plan. pointless Since almost everything costs more than a penney, why not do away with them altogether? Round off all prices to the nearest nickel. That would bring down the price of copper wire, etc. I think it's an okay idea...Look at what they've done with the quarters and some of the paper money..I guess it was only a matter of time before they did something to the penny.

Four new Lincoln Pennies for 2009!
The new designs to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday and the Lincoln Cents 100 birthday (in 2009) have not yet been developed. Stay tuned, it shouldn’t be long before the US mint shows us the details. yeah, i thought they were going to do away with them, cost of copper and everything. looks like it is a one time thing, like the state quarters. waste of money!
