Dag-Nabit! Isn't that a british thing? yes but I am kind of a dork. I only use it because it sounds funny. Yes, I do use the word 'drat.' I'm 57, though, and I have always been a voracious reader, so the word drat was used in books, and I just started using it because it 'sounded better' to my ear than 'swear words.' Shiver me timbers no! I prefer "darn". I try to use it instead of damn, especially when kids are around, specifically my 3-year-old grandson! But I normally use it in the plural sense, drats! Well, not actually, but now you mention it, I must use it more!
It's just great word! Hmmm...I think I have...once...when my age was showing. I drat not say...!' No I've never used that word before. I sometimes use it. Not much though. Yep. I try not to swear these days. I've also started saying "oh buttons" "fiddlesticks" "darn it to heckfire" and "blasphemy." Sometimes, I'll use some common word out of context like "oh scoopers" or "holy turtle." Rarely, but sometimes, I'll make up some weird word/sound like "holy picktaw" or "shloppers." No. I usually just say fvck. ? No!! But I've got laughed at, for saying. "Dag Nab it!" Only my mom's around and I can't say fvck Yes I do! I grew up with that word being used....it's probably more common in Australia and England, rather than the U.S.
