Help me understand....?
....why people down thumbs answers when the question is a matter of OPINION.
I understand:
If it's a WRONG answer- i.e.- incorrect information- OK
or
If it is obscene- OK
But what makes someone so all important that he/she deems his/herself the right to determine valid and invalid opinions of others.
I'm curious....
Answers: Not everyone see's the answer as you see it, or shares your same view on what's a decent answer.
That's my guess, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, who cares? If you take this stuff personal you're doomed, it's not reality and shouldn't hold any sway in your real life. its there opinion thats all . it also means someone is paying attention to you . I think it's just because they can. Dont let it bother you, K? i dont give tdowns, though usually i get blame for the tdowns the answerers recieve on my qs. but i want them to understand that the t downs wont affect my choice of BA. that option is rudely used this days, its not really reliable. I give thumbs up all the time, the only time I give someone a thumbs down is if they are hateful, disgusting with their answer!! On my own answers I quit paying attention to them so much because I know there are people that have nothing better to do than to try and make others as miserable as they are!! I refuse to let them drop to their level!! If they don't get the kind of attention that they're seeking maybe they'll go away!! I hate it when people do that. They do it just to be a pain.
I totally agree with what you`re saying.
It`s an opinion, if you don`t want to hear honest answers, don`t ask the question. Especially the ones with the pictures and they ask if we think it`s "hot". When you say no, you get thumbs down from all over the place. Well, Yahoo gave us the right to deem ourselves important enough to determine valid and invalid opinions of others with our thumbs & they kind of left it wide open, ya know? Obviously i cant speak for every one . However if it is a matter of opinion and the answer is crude or mean. Then it is (to me) agitation and i respond to that with vitriol. If the answer is just opinion then i can accept any point of view. I do understand what you mean.I cant however help you understand as i don't understand. It is a very good question though. Oh I hear ya! That makes me mad too. Then there's the ones that go in and just do it to everyone in your question, then ppl think you're the one that did it! Grrrrrrrr! lol i agree with ginny she said exactly what i would have said I wondered the same. Some people find it necessary to let it be known that they don't like what is said when someone disagrees with their view. when ever I see a genuine question I give a stara and when ever I see a genuine answer I give a thumbs up. I dont really care.
