How much is the most amount of money you have ever given to a homeless person?!

Question:

How much is the most amount of money you have ever given to a homeless person?

Answers: 5 dollars because they were rummaging through a trash can for food. I gave them the money, and they still kept rummaging.

I then felt mad, because they could've turned around and bought a burger, but instead would probably use it for drugs. $10 i have never given a homeless person money. a buck or two 1000$ cuz im rich and he was nice and i made him get a suit and crap now he has a job and apartment in san fransisco $1 a dollar I recently gave a smooth talkin "claimed to be homeless" person 40 bucks none =( my mom wouldn't let me give him any money... Probably about $20, but this was someone I got to know at a coffeehouse first, and didn't know he was homeless until a few hours later. $10 couple bucks...only bills tothe dude with one leg, change to the others...mainly drink/food:) $5 well depends if they're drunk ones that live in the city i never give em money cause i dont trust em id give money for needy children and adults that live in poverty Several years ago, on a chilly, rainy night in Chicago, a homeless guy in a wheelchair rolled up to me and said he needed $20 to have enough to get a room for the night. I gave it to him, and then instead of saying thanks, he bitched because I wouldn't give him any more money "for food". He wheeled away in a huff!
Was he really down-and-out, or was I just a sucker? I don't know. I had a zip lock bag full of change that I gave someone.... about 2$.
