    Because we want to make it as right as possible
    just seems right i guess.
    to show compassion and or sympathize.just so you all know it wasnt deliberate..
    because you feel bad and you want the other person to know that you didn't mean it.
    it is a good manner and to prevent gaining enemies

    Better yet, why do some people only apologize when they get caught?
