Question: and it's out of their way, does that mean they like you? It's happening to me and it's kinda creepy.

It could be a coincidence, but if it happens on a regular basis it's creepy, yes.
No I figure they're lost
Sounds like they do...
usually when someone goes out of their way just to maybe get a glimpse of you, yeah they like you, but as they are going to great lengths to do so, you would be better off staying as far away from the person as possible.
Either coincidence or you have a stalker!
Chase after them - isn't that what dogs do?

Then bite their legs!

That should teach them a lesson!
You'd better just ask them why they keep coming past your house if there are other ways of getting to their destination. This person could be a stalker so be careful. If you don't feel that you are in danger, ignore them. They'll stop if they mean you no harm.

If it's kinda creepy, tell someone in your home so it can be addressed immediately. The person may not mean any harm but get the message to them asap.
I had a stalker ex, whom I hadn't seen in years, drive by my place about two weeks ago. I don't think she knew that I spotted her, but she drove off quickly at any rate. I don't know whether to be worried or put a notch up my ego that she is still stalking me after all this time.

I never had an 'acquaintance' or low level person of importance do that to my immediate knowledge. It could be mere coincidence in your case, maybe not. Depends if you're situated in a dead cul-de-sac or on a busy roadway. Either way, people are wierd these days.
I once lived on a loop that nobody drove on unless they lived there. I had 2 ppl that would drive by my house ocassionally. Finally one of them told me what they were doing. They just wanted to see if I was home. Yeah, it is kinda of creepy. And, I am not a teenager. This was going on when I was 37 yrs old!!! Neither of them meant me any harm & both were friends. And, yes both of them "liked" me. One of them I dated infrequently & the other wanted to go out with me & I wasn't interested. Point is men of all ages can be juvenile.
