Deadbeat parents: Good idea or bad idea..................?!

Question: When a child is born and it should automaticly be entitled to support from both parents. If one parent is a deadbeat and refuses to support that child, the parent that is supporting that child fully should be able to either take a special credit that will give them a certain set amount of money like the earned income credit and the IRS collect this from the deadbeat parent or it be taken from that deadbeat parents social security retirement account. It would mean a less money for the deadbeat when they retire, but I feel the child's needs should come first.

Good Idea... you should run for office and implement this policy!

:)
I agree
i think the kids should get the deadbeats death benifits, and the punishment for being a deadbeat should be the chair!
Great idea. And their wages should be automatically garnished. But I have seen deadbeats not hold a job to avoid this.
Some of this is already done. The person supporting the child gets to claim them as dependents when they file their taxes. The deadbeat owing the money has his SS# flagged in the IRS system. When the deadbeat files, the IRS withholds the refund to pay down the deadbeat's back support. The supporting parent the receives this as payment. However, it is still not enough.
A good idea.
Well, my sons father only has to pay 50 dollars a month. That isn't even enough to put food on the table for 4 year old. He eats that much in less than a week. He's a growing boy! =D There needs to be something done. What they take from the parents when they file income taxes isnt enough at all. Nothing will ever really get done, I'm sad to say. The dead beats are good at dodging the system.
