Aerosmith was huge in the 70's before they ever heard of Run DMC. That cover just brought about Aerosmith's comeback.
aerosmith was big in the 70's so yes of course the would be famous with out run dmc but they might not be as big now as they are now if run didn't help bring them back in to the spot light
