Question: good question !!
I suppose many people don't car about speed limits... and who would buy a car that only reaches 80km/h?

You know, I was wondering that myself last night!! With that new Aston Martin! I was like "Well, WHY??? when there are speed limits?"

So, IDK...but I have wondered that myself! xxx

for people lik me, who dont believe in speed limits

Because rules are made and people like me break them.

because they are cars...

So the government can stick you with paying a ticket. Then they use the money to buy new golf clubs.

lol. I always wondered why to. very good question.

Makes no sense to me. We'll just get more idiots out on the highway saying: "Let's see what she'll do!!"

Ever driven on the autobahn in Germany?

policemen need to be paid too ;)

That's a fair question. I sometimes wonder that myself. But The Emergancy Services use the same vehicles as we do & they need to travel faster in an emergency. Also, not every road has a speed limit eg: Autobahn (Yes it has speed limits in areas, but is generally limit free)

Here in Germany there are certainstretches of the Autobahn

where you can put your foot down

its great

i guess if there is an emmergency,or somethin u could go fast ryt, and also if you r in danger you can always escape by driving faster

because rules are made to be broken

Every car is fitted with a device which enable the driver to adhere to the speed limit whether it's a 20 mph zone or a German autobahn. It's called a speedometer. It's up to driver education as to whether they do 20 or 200. If it were up to the "ban everything" brigade we'd still have the man with the red flag walking in front of us.

I'm thinkin' its a guy thing...=)

There are many unanswered question like this.

Why we have a higher quality speaker, when we don't use the 100% volume regularly.

Why is a 52" tv when we can see it on 14"

The answer is "this is technology/science improvements" nothing else. If someone doesn't satisfied with the smaller one.

I think it's because the automotive industry is worried that if their new cars don't go as fast as old cars, then they will sell less of them; so they have lobbyists and quangos hard at work preventing a change in the law.

I think all new cars should be fitted with a restrictor that limits them to a top speed of 85mph. I am totally against putting computers in cars that automatically force them to go at the speed limits because those devices would undoubtedly be used to spy on us; and don't kid yourself that governments don't commit criminal and undemocratic acts. Some people say "if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear", I say "fine, let me see what's at the back of your sock drawer".

because then governments can raise revenue by collecting speeding fines

To give the boys something to play with.

its just like asking why there's a parking area in a Bar when its not allowed to drive under alcohol..Well, its just for a show perhaps. having a fast running car isn't that essential.

might have something to do with the drivers

So that we can break the speed limit and loose some points a bit like yahoo. Catch me if you can.

people are prepared to buy them .

i know!!

i always thought that! if they made all cars only go 80 miles an hour at top speed but made police cars be able to go faster, then there wouldn't be any high speed chases!!!
