Have you received a Masters Degree or are currently in Grad School?!

Question: I am planning on going for an MBA, but I don't know what to expect. Is it difficult? What can you tell me about it?

Masters. 4 yrs ago. Not mba though, but finance.
anyways, i have many MBA grad friends. They are delighted with their studies. Besides MBA title has some heavy weight in the working field nowadays.

If studying in USA. Expect more of a general vision of management. You will not get technical or specific knowledge but a more broader vision. You will end up with an "attitude" rather than with technical skills.

The most interesting feaure is the "study of cases". You will train your brain to solve management problems solved in the past or current crisis. Expect a lot of reading, lot of team working (to help improve your leadership and planning skills), etc.

If you prefer more specific training (like me, in finance) I wouldn't advice to go for a MBA but for a MA or MSC in a specific field.

good luck! hope i've been of help.

I am currently in Graduate School Online at Drexel. You can expect lots and lots of papers that have to be about 8-12 pages. Other than that it is pretty much like undergraduate school.

I'm currently working on a Doctorate of Science (as opposed to a Doctorate of Philosophy) in Computer Science. My undergraduate work in in Mathematics and some of the coursework is straight forward but most of it is "hard as Chinese math" Good luck with your educational pursuit.

Had units in Masteral Degree. Nothing is too difficult in life, only if you put your heart and mind on it. An inspiration helps too. Goodluck!

I received a Master of Arts in Organizational Management in March of 2005. It was not hard and I did my course work online at the University of Phoenix. I chose not to go for an MBA because at that time, and right after 9/11 it seems like everyone was going after an MBA to keep themselves competitive and in the job market and having an MBA became the equivalent to just having a Bachelor's because so many people were getting that particular degree. Everyone I knew was working on the MBA at that time.

I chose to specialize in a certain aspect and get a master's degree in that. My niche is Management and Leadership so I got my degree in what I knew I was good at. Next year I hopefully will finally start the doctoral program in Organizational Development. I have already been accepted, it is just expensive!

I chose not to get too specific but get a degree in something that I know will take me a long way. Good luck to you in your endeavors!
