I tutor middle school kids and I have had to explain something about 8-10 times... and they still don't get it.
Depends on who it is, how complex the subject, etc. My kids? I'll explain it as many times as it takes! You? Not that many times.
It all depends.......sometimes I will try 2 or 3 times. If they are persistent to block me up I walk away. If I can tell the difference between being blinded to truth and just stubborn, that dictates how I handle things.

It depends on if it's something ideological or some type of imperical data. If it's the former, you may never get someone to understand where you're coming from, all you can do is put it out there and hope they think about it. If it's the latter, it's just a matter of finding the correct terminology or analogy for the light to come on. That's what teaching and communication is all about.
my limit has been just 2 times .Why get myself all bent out of shape because someone else is being thick headed i dont have time for it i'd rather go smell the roses elsewhere.
