I totally respect and admire them, because well, I'm tahitian. My culture has tons of things in commun with the Maori (haka, tattoos, etc).
I feel kinda bad though, bc I see that there aren't a lot of pure maori people in NZ but more caucasians...thats saddening to see. As here in Tahiti, there are a lot of french, but still, tahitian is majority. I wish it were like that in NZ too.

i think they are great, as i am part maori and part fijian(but am a white chick with green eyes--go figure that one lol) so mr goodhi, we are not aboriginal as they are from Australia and we MAORI are from NEW ZEALAND!! and the two countries are just that two seperate countries (just had to get that straight ok lol), ah yes the haka, and the ALL BLACKS(ok we just lost the world cup boohoo), its really nice to see a question about my culture on answers(as most of you are from the usa...most i said lol)
Awesome, especially the music. I saw a group perform when they opened the Native Indian Museum in Washington DC. They performed Karanga Aotearoa, and a couple other songs I couldn't catch the name of because there were just so many people there talking and applauding. And I've yet to find where I can buy a tape, CD of that song. I mean the ground shook when the men did their thing. You could feel every emotion; the fierceness, protectiveness, and love. And then the women sweetly calling. It was mesmerizing. And the women, are they all that beautiful? Totally awesome. I regret I forgot my video camera. But then every native culture is awesome. Someday, God willing, I will get to go there personally. As we say here, Hoka Hey.
