There are instances where I'd catch a whiff of something that smells familiar. When I smell that, I remember about my childhood but I'm not sure where I've smelt that scent or what it reminds me of specifically.
I know there's a condition where some people's senses are criss cross and they can smell sounds and colors.

My pet iguana got out of his cage and was running loose in my house during the weekend when I was out of town. He didn't have any food or water because he got trapped in a clothes hamper and couldn't climb out. So the iguana died in my clothes hamper. Two days later a really AWFUL smell was in my laundry room, couldn't figure out what it was......then it was time to do laundry and I found dead rotting iguana in my clothes hamper - I threw out all the clothes because the iguana corpse was full of maggots.
