hmm.. Michael has a skin disease, he couldn't help it, he is proud to be a black american. He has said so many times, and he has never said he was white, or wanted to be white.

I haven't a clue. Michael was a beautiful young black man before he started allowing doctors to chop on him. I'm saying it loud - I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD!
Back in the day being black wasn't as cool (and actually frowned upon) as it is today. Although he did say one time as a young teen he heard a fan make a bad comment about his complexion, I assume it was acne, but I guess from there on he figured why stop there.
