I'm sick and tired of these people who say that looks don't matter. On top of the fact that it's not realistic, it's stupid, smart wise. It's a fact of life that you consider physical aspects of a person before you decide you really like them. And in this life, you usually see someone and know nothing about them before you like them. What the hell can you base your feelings on but looks? Of course other things come into place, but on that first impression, where is there anything else to make your mind up on?

They act that way because its true. Its whats on the inside that matters.

I see a lot of people who think looks matter. Looks don't matter. It's whats in the inside that counts. Not many people realize that.

Naturally, looks matter in that a person should be neat, clean, presentable, etc...
But personality, intelligence, kindness, etc... are far more important than looks.
looks do matter, but personally, what comes from inside is better. it sounds really cheesy but its true. you could come across the ugliest person out there and they could be the most loyal friend ever. stop and think about that before you judge a book by its cover.

i dont want someone gud looking, i jus dont want someone im not attracted to, repulsed by, or doesnt care about their appearance ? peoples appearance is a personal statement they make about themselves, if we all get to decorate our own covers why shudnt first impressions matter?

looks do not mean everything
e.g there could be a really fit boy/girl you meet but they are a horrible person
or there is a not very nice looking person and they could be the nicest person on earth

This is something that unattractive people are hoping is true...............Its not, I wish it were because good looking guys are jerks, but its not.
I have no idea why people dont think they do....because they really do. When you see a person the first thing you comment on is their appearance. Then when they open their mouth that may change your perspective on them. But its not until you speak to them that you will make a real conscious decision.....people need to get a grip and be real about it. You can't look a hot mess and get noticed, unless your personality is off the chain.

Ironic isn't it? The health and beauty industries are multi-billion dollar businesses all over the world and we're expected to say that we're attracted to the inner beauty.

Whether we like it or not we do care about looks and other physical attributes. Read up on "physical attractiveness". In response to your question I scanned through the Wikipedia on this particular topic... very enlightening. It seems that we are more centred on beauty than we care to admit.
