Question: my usual doc died so there's a stand in in his place and i hate him more than i hate my usual doctor!!

I'm gonna change doctors in a while.........but anyway, I'm getting off track! i feel so nervous, what should i do to keep myself calm?

Sometimes it helps to think of other things, or read...or whatever you like to do for fun. Sometimes it also helps to read up on what you have to see the doctor for. Just knowing what is going to happen can be reassuring.

Just concentrate on what your going to the doctor for, don't think of any thing else and you will be fine, in fact it might even turn out that now you like him if he comes up with the right answers.

You need to start learning not to hate so much. You hated your first doctor, you hate this one. Sounds like there's other issues here. But to answer your question, if this doctor makes you nervous, find someone you feel more comfortable with. Someone who takes the time to hear you out, and shows concern about your health. Going to the doctor shouldn't be something you dread. Good luck!

Listen on headphones to any music that you find very relaxing. My favorite is Enya or chanting monks. At the same time, breathe slowly and deeply, and relax the muscles in your body, make your arms go limp, unclench your jaw, etc.
Tell yourself, "Everything is fine, everyhting is gonna be fine..." again and again.

Sit down for a start and try and control your breathing, inhale, exhale slowly this brings the heart rate down, stops the adrenaline pumping so fast around your body. You see doctors for good result and bad results to be cured..orfor your good being..theyre a big help so why be nervous??

Say to yourself what you will be doing three hours from now and focus your thought away from the present....think of busy things and happy things, and when your mind wanders to the AHHHH stage,simply don't allow it.
