POLL - what do you think of Salman Rushdie?!

Question: I think he's a hero. Anyone who would take on, and risk the wrath of, the Ayatollah at the height of his power for the sake of his work and his art should be admired and respected. He occasionally makes an appearance on "Real Time with Bill Maher"...don't miss it if you have a chance to see him.

who?

really cool person

I've read a few of his books, Midnight Children and the Satanic Verses and I thought they were rather good.

A brave writer not afraid to write things that he knows certain religions will be upset by

EDIT: What is it with these people posting "Who?" - If you don't know who the question is about don't answer.

who?

I've never met him, so I couldn't say.

I can't say. I have never met the guy.

S/He has a weird first name

Who is that?

He says it as it is, but he is costing British taxpayers a fortune in protecting him!!!

pretty. actually, dunno who that is.
if its a food, sounds yummy.

He's an okay guy to hang with when he isn't in hiding. Man, that guy can be hard to track down. He's a hell of a poker player but don't get him drunk, he just babbles on and on about the Ayatollah.

I have no opinion of him sorry.

I like him. I'm not a massive fan of his books but I love Midnight's Children. I think he's also quite an interesting character.

Well, He spoke his mind.
Or rather...wrote it down.
