No...sometimes people really do have a thumbs down coming. I've seen people answer just to say "idk" or to insult the asker...bam, thumbs down.
What amazes me is when people ask what someone's faith is, and others thumbs-down the answer. Wow...very Christian.

Yes, I think that that is usually true. Though I do think that some answers (mostly those from trolls) are so bad that they deserve a thumbs down.

Kinda...but I have given them on occasions (outside P&S) where it encourages the asker to do something that is potentially dangerous...other than that yeah there does seem to be a lot of abuse of thumbs down....to bad you didn't have to actually fill out a thing saying why it was bad, bet people wouldn't take the time to do it.

Generally, I think that's true. I hardly ever give a thumbs down, unless the answer is just really off-base and rude. Alot of people out here do lack a sense of humor, though, especially sarcastic humor.
SOMETIMES people DO give offensive or derogatory answers with no bearing to the question an are deserving of a thmbs down.
