Question: well i think that not all prefer to live this way, the rs many reasons behind this, drugs, alcohol, no money no work. but Ive always believe, that were theres a well theres a way, they can always try to do something to avoid this, why because we do it every day, we work our butts off to survive and not end up in the streets, but these people have gave up hope don't care any more.

i doubt anyone who is homeless has a choice.....think about it.

I think many of them are addicted to alcohol or drugs which impairs their judgement.

They want to be seen as better than everybody.

I seriously doubt any of them prefer to be that way.....

cause most of them really do have money, but they like to make a couple extra bucks by sitting on the street for the weekend.

no responsibility...

I guess some are hiding from themselves and their past

because their to lazy to get a job or just crazy .

Usually those are on the street the perfer this way is because they once had money.

since money corrupted them and give them too much stress.
and now they find out that living on the street is better then before

they stay that way.

live as days go by without thinking of tomorrow.

it is a carefree environment.

Do you think they have a choice? Who would choose to sleep on a cold dangerous street if they had a warm bed to get to?

Simple: it's an easy way to get free money. People give them money. If 50 people give them a dollar per day, they earn $50 per day, that is 1500 a month! WITHOUT moving their butt!

HELLO??!! warm, snuggly house, food on the table, a table!! T.V., computer.

They may not have a choice.

I think some people live that way because it's easier than dealing with life & having to work. Others are mentally & physically incapable of holding down a job due to drug abuse & alchoholism. Then they can't or don't want to seek help. Anyone can find themselves homeless. There are people who have a job, lose it, go bankrupt, & get so far in debt there is no turning around. They lose their home & end up on the street. People should not judge homeless people cause they don't know their situation. But you have to want to help yourself too.

They don't prefer to live that way, they are homeless simply because they either can't afford to live someplace or are thrown out of where they were and have no place else to go anyway.

when you have lost everything its damn hard to find work let alone a place to live. in todays economy there are entire families homeless and they are surely not enjoying themselves.

Most have no choice in the matter. In many countries people are too poor to ever be able to purchase a house (read shack) let alone have much of what you who are reading this take for granted. In those situations if your parents die from illnesses like HIV/Aids or are too ill to work or cannot get work you wind up on the street. These places have no welfare to tide you over if you are unemployed or disabed.

Next stop .. the Western Countries.

Homeless people fall under 3 broad categories.
Runaways, the destitute, mentally ill and drug/alcohol related problems. A very small minority live there because they like it.

If you live in the USA then you need to realise that if you don't have medical insurance it's very easy to wind up on the streets homeless. All it takes is a decent sized hospital bill and you have to sell the house, car etc to pay the bill. Guess what .. you're out on the street. The same applies if you can't find a job. You go down the ladder and end up at the bottom on the street eventually. At least 40 million Americans do not have medcal insurance due to being unable to afford it.

Once you are homeless it's very difficult to get a job, mostly because your clothes become very dirty and due to personal hygene issues.

The mentally ill wind up on the streets because most of the institutions closed down in the late 70s and 80s, in a cost cutting exercise.

cause if they stay in a warm snuggly room they will smell themselves
