NO, and making someone else do something they HATE is not fair. Making them suffer should not make things EQUAL. Both should choose to go with someone else who likes it or the sufferer should be allowed to take an MP3 player to make the time tolerable.

My boyfriend came with me to the ballet. We both have very different interests but we've tried to share them with each other. I refuse to go to another football game with him though because he's TOO into it and I didn't enjoy myself because I had no idea what was going on and every time I tried to ask a question, he started yelling at the field.

well, I am going tonight to see a classical music concert because my girlfriend is into that stuff.
I can't say I hate classical music but it is something I haven't really done before.

not always will a relationship have everything in common. So its best to learn how to deal with it. That or u could just tell her u dislike opera and don't want to go and hope she understands. If she loves u back she should probably understand. But it would be sweet and nice of u to go with her because it'll make her happy and u don't want to leave her there by yourself do u O.o..
i am a girl but yeah, each should do things that is of interest to the other one just to show support and that if it is impt. to them then it is to you, too. (as long as it goes both ways) :)

Well... I am a girl. But I wouldn't expect or be offended if my husband didn't want to partake in an activity I disliked. I could do it with a friend. Big deal... I expect the same from him... he sure isn't going to drag me out to waste hours doing something I find no enjoyment in what-so-ever. He would have a better time doing it with a friend who was into the same thing...
If I've never been, then yes. If I have been to the opera, and swore I would cut my nuts off before I would ever do that again...then pass the cleaver.
