You don't deceive your 'friends'. Own up to it and offer to pay for it.
I'd tell them, and try to fix it. I'd probably give the parents some money to show that I care and that I'm sorry.

i would tell them because esp if it is brand new, they will know who/what/when it happened and it will be even worse them knowing and knowing that i was trying to hide it. lol
If there was NO way they would ever find out it was me, then I would keep it a secret. If they might find out I did it, I would confess, but I would make it a point to scrub the heck out of it until I got it clean. Use OXY clean, the powdered stuff....it's FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!
