Sad to say, I hate my mother. She left me on the front poach of my grandma's house, I was only 4 months old at the time. She then ran off with her gay girlfriend to Toronto.
My father was only there for the fun part and then he split. I was 3 at the time, no support to my mother after he left.
My Grandma is my loved one of my family, she raised me and she classified me as her daughter, not grand daughter

Growing up i was more scared of my father... because i knew once he knew i was naughty thats where the trouble would start....

I suspect that kids would love their mother more than their father in a family wherein the mother is the nurturer and spends more time with them than does the father, or in a one-parent family (where ther's only the mother).
I love both my parents equally, however my mother was around a lot more than my dad was (he was always at work) so she went to bat for me when I needed support.

mom.. no doubt there. She's more forgiving than my dad and obviously understands me better. Dads are usually cold because they just don't understand.

I think anyone naturally feels closer to their mum but again this can differ between people.
