Guys are that way too. I think they like a challenge. My best friend said she'd never been hit on so much as after she started wearing her engagement ring.
But if you mean in just a friendly, get to know you way.....sometimes. It takes a lot of the pressure off. If we don't have to worry about how much you like us, or in what way, we're free to be ourselves.

some like to think they can take other girl's bfs to boost their own ego! I know a lot of girls like that!
I feel the same way as you. But personally, I don't like to talk to guys who are in a relationship. Sometimes not even just as friends. Because I know alot of girls who will talk to a man just because he is taken, and try to get him. I guess it empowers them that he's interested even though he is already with someone. So, I don't want to be like them. I want to respect people who are in a relationship.
Also, I don't want to accidentally fall for the guy and not be able to have him. So, again, I just stay away.
it's the same way for girls.....and the same way if you or they are married...seems there's a "competition" thing going on out in the world. Or maybe they're just testing you to see if you really like that girl, i.e. if you would cheat on her or not.
probably for the same reason guys do it. it always happens to me too. let me know if you find out why, will you?
Some girls may go for a guy they know is taken if they are just looking for a hookup. I would never do this, but I know girls who have. They do it because there is absolutely no commitment, no having the guy call you or ask you out, no hurt feelings. It's just a one night fling and some girls like that.
