It's a different kind of love. I don't think they can be compared. I couldn't live without either.
With kids it's unconditional, and not selfish at all. You're never jealous of your kids, never competetive, and you'll forgive them if they put you on the floor and jump on your stomach.
With a partner, you're more demanding, you want their undivided love and attention, you get possesive and jealous at times, and though you may always love them no matter what, certain things you probably wouldn't forgive.
Your kids are a continuation of your self. Your partner is a completion of your self... :)

And I love each one of my kids, AND my husband, more than anyone in the world!
Our kids are a reflection of our love, if that makes sense.
I love Andrew and our boys resemble our love. We chose to spend our lives together and one day the twins will grow up and move away (not for a very long time) but Andrew and I will be old and insane together.
