My 2 year old is addicted to QVC?!

Question: She received a credit card in the mail and activated it just so she could power shop from the comfort of home. She has a problem and I'm not sure what to do about it.

She ordered me an embroidered blazer featuring a fall motif, and got her dad one of those fancy GPS navigation systems. I caught her on the phone at 3am this morning ordering the Talking 12" Donald Trump Collectible and a knife set. It's out of control.

I'm not even sure what her credit limit is, and I'm afraid to ask. When confronted about how she plans on paying for all this junk she just starts crying and asking for graham crackers. What am I supposed to do?

I'm afraid if I take the card away she'll lose her sense of independence, and Supernanny says you should encourage your child to be self-reliant. How do I know when to step in and take control of the situation, and when to just be an observer? Parenting a toddler is hard work.

How old do you have to be to work at Speedway?

I can sympathize. I'm dealing with a similar situation with my three year old son and the power tools that he garnered from the pawn shop last spring. While I'm somewhat alarmed at his flippant regard for safety... the sofa table he crafted for his Mom last week really completes the sitting room ensemble.I just wish I knew what happened to my CD collection.

He is too young for it

how can a 2 year old get a credit card??????

you got a tough life, just be glad she is not addicted to porn.

How did a 2 year old activate it?

i love your little girl . she is a woman - to - be after my own heart. QVC is a wonderful place to learn new things and make new friends. back when i was allowed to use the credit card , i used to live over there. my god . the clothing is stunning.

Can I suggest psychiatric help.

As if you really believe this, or expect us to believe it, you have problems

Look people think that children need their independence. Wrong! the girl lives in your house therefore they are your rules, take away the card, and if this continues then try punishing her! Im not saying spanking because spanking should only be used in severe matters, such as this try talking to her. But like the saying goes in spanish " Ponte los pantalones" meaning, take control of the situation, she is your daughter and she is two years old, best of luck.

wtf. just hide the credit card and block qvc tv station. u can do it or tell your 2 yr old to stop it.

and to work at speedway u have to be 18 at least. but its danderous working there. trust me i did it and i was nerous about working at midnight over there.

What you need to do is make her get a job. Once she starts working 40-hours a week, she'll learn the value of a dollar. The same thing happened to my 1 year old son but I put his little butt to work and now he's a motivated 6 year old CEO for Bank of America. So in a way, QVC was responsible for him becoming a CEO for a Fortune 500 company.

I think you're on the right track. If she's old enough to have a credit card and is"smart" enough to use it, then its time for her to get a job. I think if she's such a fan of Donald Trump, enough to get a doll of him, them that's definitely the first place to look for employment. NBC could start an Apprentice Jr. show.

Ummm a 2 year old? Are you sure? I'd call for a counselor.
I'm sorry to say I did find this a bit humorous, but in all seriousness, you could lock out that channel, for one, and two, cancel the card, she IS a MINOR

at two, she is definitely old enough to have a credit card. you sound like quite a pushy parent, she needs to learn the basics of finance and responsibility, and i imagine most of her friends already have credit cards, many of them will be driving by that age.,

i'm sorry, but there comes a time when you just have to give them a bit of independence and let them leave the nest. i know it can be hard, but she'll be 3 next year and a young woman, you can't stay on her back the whole time.

but you might want to encourage her to kick the qvc habit. it's very expensive over a long period of time, and did you know it causes hart disease and lung cancer? start by restricting her to 30 minutes a day, then you can slowly take it down. qvc-orette patches may also help, but willpower is required.

getting her a job might be a good idea, she will need some way to repay her card bills. 2 should be an okay age to work at speedway, but she might have to give up a few late nights out.

good luck

are you serious???? i am soooo confused...how does a 2 year old even have a credit card????your joking right?

I'm not bar far trying to imply that your child is stupid, but can you please explain to all of us how a two year old gets a credit card and knows how to activate it? I think you must have a very sad and lonely life to be asking questions like this. This is not a real situation.

Too Cute.

Tell her Aunt Nasty emailed her my Christmas wish list. I really want that Corningware that I saw last night. I got her list. I'm having a hard time reading her writing, but I think it said something about Jessica Simpson extensions and a new amp for her car. I just want to get a a gift card to Home Depot like I did last year.

Let the girl breathe, woman!
