Anybody know anyone that washed out of Marine Corps Boot Camp? Parris Island?!
Question: My platoon started with over a hundred as I recall and finished with about 60...all kinds of stories there...one guy (one of the squad leaders as a matter of fact) jumped from the 3rd story stairwell down to the asphalt deck...they took him away in an ambulance...we never heard what happend to anyone...Marine corps boot camp is basically run like a pow camp...had a guy go nuts the first nite at lights out...that was a wild night....never saw him either...

He was my best man at my wedding. He was a short fellow, and they marched him so hard he got a stress fracture in his hip, and they had to replace it at the age of 21. He ended up on Medical discharge.
Sad thing was, he was the company marksman, and was set to graduate near the top of his enlistment....
Great man... and that broke him. He hasnt been the same since, and that was 25 years ago..
