Why do laptops have to be so hot on the bottom...it's not exactly comfortabl!

I know, its rubbish isnt it, the instruction book for mine even said don't touch the bottom when its hot as it could cause minor burns!!! I think its cos there's not room for a massive fan.
Go on ebay and type in laptop cooling pad, it's like a plastic square you put under the laptop and plug into a USB port, it had 3 little fans in it and it really keeps the bottom cool (which helps to extend the laptop life as parts don't get frazzled from overheating as much) and also makes your lap nice and cool, I'm using one now and its really handy.
Mine does not get hot.
Ack I know because it make them more desirable I guess.
It is comfortable! I love the heat when I'm cold.
And, it shouldn't get *too* hot anyway, make sure your fan is not being blocked.
I now put a paper or magazine on my laps to stop me from over heating.
that's the reason why they changed the term 'laptop' to 'notebook' a few years back. but i guess the term 'laptop' has been so entrenched in our society that people keep using the term.
idk i hate that though but put a pillow under that
when you have them on your lap, spread your legs a bit. it needs air to circulate.

its hot cos all electrical devices give out heat
I put a book underneath the laptop so its more convenient to have on my lap.
they should have an area thats lets out all the hot air. if it gets hot then put it on a desk. it shouldnt get too hot though
Because laptops are very compact there is little room for all the parts and ventilation. About the name there is not much to say except that it is well chosen. For commercial reasons that is but not for your lap.
you need to be careful with putting a laptop on your lap because it can decrease fertility but if u have to then just use a pillow because the air can circulate but it also stops your lap from getting hot
ouch mine does too, so i have to a pillow on my lap, it drives me mad lol ,maybe they called be called pillow tops!
They make meal serving trays out of various materials, that are porous, for eating from a persons lap. This may help prevent the bottom of your laptop from becoming hot...you can make something similar from a crate.
I now have a little table for mine, its now a tabletop. Get a cushion or something for your lap.
Its nice though when im cold! Its my personal heater.
I place my laptop either on a desk or the kitchen table. Place one of those racks that is inserted in the kitchen sink underneath the laptop. Allows the computer to breathe on the bottom and disperses the heat.
