In a condition of 2-foot visibility, wouldn't you reduce vehicle speed a lot!

Question: Half an hr ago here in CA, there was a 100 vehicle crash. It included 18 big rigs, & there are 2 dead & dozens hospitalized. Wasn't this preventable?

Definitely but many times people don't give a fig about being able to see or not. Then accidents come and people cry. What can we do?

yes that would have been the smart thing to do.

Wow...where at in California?

Personally, if I can't see 2 feet ahead of me, I won't drive. I'll stay put until it clears up.

I'd say it was preventable.

: )

if there is only a 2foot viewing capability, no one should have been on the road.........how sad :(

yeah, I'd either go to the outer lane and proceed with much slower speed or stop at the shoulder and wait until visibility increases.

YES! People seem to think if they tailgate and can see the next person's taillights they can navigate that way, making it all the more unsafer.
Tragic. Tragic, but foolish.
