Why is it irony? Religion is based on faith, global warming is based on science.
No because there's no definitive study that takes all the evidence for and against GW and gives us a definitive verdict.

I haven't heard religious people call much of anything a myth; they seem to be very serious about all manner of things! [I haven't heard any so much as mention global warming, though, at least not by name. There are the usual 'The world is ending' statements, made since the world began, it seems.]
