I do have a bear story...
15 years ago, I was in the U.P. of Michigan, up near Copper Harbor, it was late at night. My friend and I were in my little two-seater sports car (thank god it was raining and the windows were up) up on top of the Brockway Mountain drive. It was a wild night. As we sat there in the dark, drinking Southern Comfort - shhhhh - I noticed some movement on the passenger side. I turned the car lights on and saw a rather large black bear cross in front of the car, look me straight in the eye and come around to my side of the vehicle. Then, as we were scared to death and giggling rather loudly, we noticed two more bears on the other side looking at us. It was a moment like I've never had before or since. Finally, after being sniffed repeatedly, they left us alone and wandered off into the woods. I figured it was a mother and her cubs. Priceless.

I would be scared of a bear. You can't outrun them and they attack like for awhile until they think your dead. Tear your back up..ouch.

I was walking around this neighborhood that had a lot of open land around it when a mountain lion ran across the street right in front of me and into a wooded area. I was so scared that I turned around and went the other way and went back to my car. I am so thankful it wasnt hungry. When I got home I called animal control but I dont know if they ever caught it.
Obviously a tiger or lion or any large predator, including an angry bear, would be bad news to encounter up close and personal. My encounter in Alaska was a little scary. They say that moose are quite dangerous if it's a mother with her baby (mooselet?). In Kincaid Park, Anchorage, this little baby moose came trotting out of the bushes toward us, all friendly-like. We backed off and it just kept coming towards us. Then I spot the mother moose and she was eyeballing us. We kept backing off, slowly, and managed to put some distance between us and the baby moose. It was a close one alright, could have been really bad, but we were lucky.
