Have you ever been to an adult bookstore?!

Question: I went back in my college days. I think there was false advertising involved, because I saw more magazines, movies and "battery-operated devices" than books.

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the discovery. But the word "bookstore" can be misleading. What do you think?

They're ok, and the only reading material is more in the way of picture books with naked people in them (HAHAHA)

The battery operated devices are ok, for the most part but nothing can replace the real thing baby.

oh yes, i love it

No

Yes, worked in one for a while. We also sold "pipes", and other paraphernalia.

Yes I have...there were very few books LOL. Of course I didn't go in there for books!

nope

no, the word 'adult' before it clears things up for me

I've never been to an adult bookstore, but I can imagine the name could be misleading. I have been to a porn shop before. The big question for you is, did you buy anything?
:)

Check out Circus of Books in WeHo. They have lots of adult BOOKS as well as the usual collection of other items and sundries.

Ha, once in college! We were the only girls in the "bookstore" and I, of course was hysterically laughing at everything! Especially the "Triple Ripple."

LOL, yeah.. I have been.. unintentional though because I didn't know what is what it was..it was funny..

when I was younger I went

Yes, when I was young I went to one with my boyfriend. I have never been to another since that day. Not my "style".

I think they use the term "bookstore" to get around certain legalities.

Just like a "head shop" will use the word "novelty" for certain items......or "tobacco pipe" for smoking apparatuses.

They Rock..and its a great way to express yourself sexually and it can be fun for you and a partner to explore together!

Yes, I have. And yes, they tend to sell more "other items" than they do books.

Yes I have and got quite an eyefull from the movie cucibles in the back!

Yes, I have. And it was a bit sleazy, was not comfortable shopping for personal items in public. Which makes the Internet a wonderful invention.

Now when I shop only the government (thanks to the "Patriot Act), Yahoo, Google and a few billion people on the Internet are privy to the information.....

HEY....WAIT A MINUTE...!!!!.

LOL

Peace.

I agree, I went to one and was intrigued by it all, some of the things I saw I still do not have the slightest idea what they were.

Yeah...first one I went to was in Charlotte, NC. There were video booths in the back. Cool. I checked them out and watched porn. Then, I went to several in Europe (they're freaks over there...let me tell you!) And have been to a few more here back in the states.

Yes I went to Amsterdam they're litterally on EVERY corner even in the food stores so ..

yeah it is a bit misleading but we all know what's in the 'bookstore' and i find some of the things in the 'bookstore' quite interesting!

Yes it can be misleading and What did you buy? I hope something good

I think back in the day before VHS, DVDs, and computer games, it probably was mostly naughty books.

But yes, I've been many times. I used to go a lot with a former beau because my presence would usually freak the other men out: they'd either scurry away from us or they'd anxiously watch what I was looking at. Fun and games, fun and games.

You know I have....Where did you think I got all that porn....?

Yea....I don't know why they add Book to the title....Many of them I've been in...Didn't have hardly any books....Mostly magazines and everything else....
