I grew up low middle class because my mother held down 3 jobs, but when she couldn't keep up with the finances and her health I began to be raised in some semi low places and ghettos

Yes...inner-city high school. Felt completely out of place in the suburban private Christian school I attended 3rd-8th grade.

Born in Detroit, thankfully my parents moved us to a suburb when I was a kid. I did live right on Eight Mile Road off of Woodward, went to college at Wayne State.

Basically when one refers to the ghetto they are talking about where the majority of the residents are minorities... A hood on the other hand is usually characterized by a gang, set, or street used to identify your location.
