No not at all, you take people as they come.
It depends on you? If you don't smoke and you can't stand the smell etc of smoke then it's not good. And also if they smoke around you then you're breathing the nicotine in. Even if it's on their clothes then you're still breathing it in.
Personally, as a non-smoker I would never go out with someone who smokes cos I hate it, it stinks and people look rough when they smoke, common etc, and I don't want to be associated.
You can't choose your family to be non smokers but if you're starting out a new relationship then you can choose them to be non smokers.

can't speak for others, but yes, it matters to me. i wouldn't have gotten to the "love him" stage if he'd been a smoker, and it would certainly be a problem if he started now. there are way cheaper & less deadly bad habits to indulge in - his is comic books. that i can handle. he's not going to die from that.
