In order to get any response from God through prayer, one has to first and foremost give themselves up, and let God into their hearts.
In other words, if you were in dire threat of being killed, like say you were drowning, or in an airplane cockpit and flame was all around you and you couldn't control the plane and were heading for the ground fast... you would know that you were in emanate threat of dying. In a position like that when you asked God for help you most likely wouldn't be feigning sincerity. Therefore God would listen to your prayer, and if you truly believed in Him, then most likely a miracle would indeed occur. If you get my drift. Again, in other words, you have to pray with great sincerity to get anywhere with God as He is a reader of the hearts and minds of men, and can’t be fooled by would be experimenters who are just testing Him or trying to see if He really will listen to them.
So as the old saying goes, “Let go and let God!”

Well I don't here voices when I pray. And I can't get on my knees because I fell pretty far chasing a tennis ball and I can hardly walk at ther moment.
My idea of a higher voice are my children. I don't pray - I just think very hard.
