i am not a lawyer but i think it is "joy riding" or trespassing something like that as you break in and you hot wire it. maybe it is larson.
It could be if the owner of the car did not give you permission to drive it.
It is in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
its theft it you take it and do not intend to return it. but if you bring the car back, its just considered joy riding, still a crime though.
Even if the car has christmas tree lights all around it with a huge orange arrow pointing to it, once YOU climb in to the seat, start the engine and take off - it IS Grand Theft!!!
Well if you keep it , yeah its theft.. not sure if its grand theft..
If you bring it back you could say you went for a joy ride, test drive, needed to borrow it for a minute.. ect.. but i still think your gonna get in trouble..
