I realize you were probably wanting a nationally recognized official holiday, to that question, Veteran's day. Without them, we might be living under Hitler's rule or worse if tha tis possible.

christmas is my favorite i think because i didnt get to celebrate it when i was growing up and now that i do its so much fun to get all the family together and all the food oh love the food
In Scotland it should be St Andrew's Day, 30th November, although in practice it is New Year (Hogmannay 31st December and New Year's Day 1st January). Over recent decades Christmas has caught up and is a major festive holiday - up until the 1960s in Scotland, Christmas was usually a normal working day.
