LOL...something similar happened to me.....I phoned in sick one day cause i thought i missed the staff bus (i worked in a holiday camp at the time) .....after i phoned my work ,my little sister asked me why i wasn't going to work,so i explained i had missed the bus..she told me the clocks hadn't been pit back the night b4(daylight savings) ..so i still had another 45 mins b4 the bus was due....I got an awful ribbing at work when i went in that morning and explained what happened
I did it once, sort of.
My boss kept changing his mind on if i was working or not, so i called in and said i was sick "cough, cough" and wasnt comming in
When i went in the day after, he laughed at me because he had decided i was off before i called.
Saved me a sick day at least!

I wouldn't be embarrassed, as many things far worse than this tend to happen to me on a daily basis :P and they call me intelligent...
I'd be over the moon =) a bit like when you wake up on a Sunday, thinking it's a Monday, to find it is indeed a Sunday!

No I would lie and say "see I told you I was sick" I would blame it all on a brain tumor or something like that!

That really happen to me, except I was calling in a day earlier than I was suppose to come in to work,lol.
knowing what hours you worked would be good
HA HA HA now THAT is pretty bad. Not a problem though, I guess you would just keep up the charade and say something like, "Thank God, because I feel terrible." and hang up. :)
I would check my schedule first to see if I am due to go to work or not.
