How do you fake your genuine interest?!
Question: I whistle....
I look up in the sky.....
I look down at my shoes....
I say "hm.... so and so..."
The difficulty is to present as genuine, my fake interest....

I just smile and nod, especially when I can't understand what someone with a heavy accent is saying. It seems to do the job.

If it is a genuine interest, you shouldn't have to fake it.....ever!
